It is quite difficult to actually tell you my name as with each new career I change my name, don’t ask me why, I just do!

Let me tell you …I was born in a small hospital in London, a few years after Joan Collins. My birth certificate says Wendy Ann…no surname as my mother was not married to my wonderful father and in those days that was frowned on….so Wendy Ann I am.

A few years later my mother married, and I was adopted so I became Wendy Ann Cowen…I stuck with that until I left home and became a model and changed my name to my fathers’ name and became Wendy Lewis. My life as a model could fill a book. I travelled the world, wined, and dined with Royalty, danced on tables with JOHN LENNON, and finally ran away to Rome with a one- way ticket and feel deeply in love…..another story.

At the height of my career as a model I decided to HANG UP MY EYELASHES, all 3 pairs of them, and opened one of the first boutiques in London called HARRIET, it was a huge success, and everyone knew me as Harriet. I designed clothes for JULIE CHRISTIE, SANDY SHAW, BIANCA JAGGER all the debutantes in London…finally Harriet opened shops within Harrods and Neiman Marcus in USA

BUT I worked 7 days a week and was so exhausted I decided to put a padlock on the door and have a rest…I lasted, as a housewife, for 3 weeks!

So I opened a BEAUTY SALON with my best friend in Barnes, it was an instant success..again enough stories to fill at least one book.

That was a very strange business, talking about fat and blackheads grrrrr not for me. So I sold my shares to my friend and was unemployed again!

It was the 80’s and the latest ‘thing to do’ was Interior designing…so I took a one-week course and set up my interior business under the name of Wendy Baker.

Great success..lots of clients, made a lot of money but again 7 days a week!

Another girlfriend called Chrissie and I collected sketches of all the curtains I designed and just for fun I took them to Harper Collins, a big publisher to see if they were interested. A flat NO from them so I published the book on my own. We sold over a million copies and everyone’s mouth fell open!

So Harper Collins and various other publishers asked me to work on books for them. I sold the rights of all my books to Russia, Poland, USA, and most countries around the world in many languages.

I continued to do the occasional interior design project but when I was asked by Paramount to work for TOM CRUISE I decided after that …I WOULD STOP AT THE TOP and I have….sort of!

I am filled with ideas…and you know I was never trained for any of my amazing careers..you see you either have it or you don’t!
