Compact Sketchbook of Accessories

Compact Sketchbook of AccessoriesThe Compact Sketchbook of Accessories is filled with ideas showing you how to accessorise your home, whether it is a relaxed country style or a more slick city style that you are trying to achieve. "Over accessorising" can sometimes work well but other times it can just look a mess. I personally love 'clutter' but then all of a sudden I feel like throwing everything away and generally clearing the decks. Very minimal accessories can look fantastic. If the one green apple on the plate is correctly placed but rather like nouvelle cuisine it can sometimes look ridicules! I hope you enjoy some of my ideas and that you find them not only helpful but that it will also teach you to change the way you place your ornaments, cushions or collectables. When you manage to create that certain cosiness to a family room or the right kind of elegance to a formal living room just by adding the right accessory in the right place then you are well on your way to creating that perfect room setting.

Compact Sketchbook of Blinds

Compact Sketchbook of BlindsIn this Sketchbook I have tried to show every style of blinds imaginable in various situations From rollers to Romans and from London blinds to Austrians. All squeezed into this Compact Sketchbook. Although blinds are often used as an alternative window covering instead of curtains they do work well together and in this book I have given you plenty of examples. Also included are panels and portieres, two other alternatives to curtains. Although I have added a few rules to follow when measuring windows for blinds, this is not meant to be a technical book. This is a sketchbook of inspirational ideas. You can add more trimmings or add your own personal touches but hopefully in these pages you will find something to suit every kind of window and every kind of décor, whether it be for the home or the office.

Curtain Sketchbook 2

Curtain SketchbookThe aim of this book is to show, in clear simple sketches, hundreds of ideas for curtains, or drapes, and other window treatments. Select your design or various combinations of designs, add a frill or more fringing, if you wish, to the sketch and then it can be coloured to tie in with individual schemes. This is not a 'How to do it book' It is a book of ideas for interior designers or decorators to use as a tool to stimulate his or her own ideas, and to introduce people to the vast number of styles that they can either make for themselves, or to give them a clearer picture of designs available before approaching their designer, decorator, design shop, or curtainmaker.

Window and Bed Sketchbook 1

Window and Bed SketchbookThe Window and Bed Sketchbook comes in the same format as the other sketchbooks. The pages are filled with simple black lines illustrations that show every detail of the design clearly. Firstly there are pages of poles, pelmets, valances and curtain headings then on the left hand pages you will find simply sketched basic curtains showing you exactly how the curtain falls when using that particular heading on the right hand pages there are some variations. It's very easy to follow. The middle section shows the use of trimmings or passementerie. It works the same way as the first part of the book. We have taken a particular trimming and put it on to a curtain on the left pages and shown some variations on the following page. Remember, you can often 'save the day' by adding a trimming here and there and it does add a professional touch to your curtains and soft furnishings. Finally, the last section of this book shows many sketches of beds. From four posters to day beds, hammocks and even a bed in a wig-wam! There are plenty of ideas for children's beds and simple tips to 'jazz up' your old bed by adding a new headboard or perhaps by buying some new bed linen and a pile of new cushions. I'm sure you will find this book a great source of information when you are looking for new ideas to make your home look wonderful. As with my other books the sketches are simply drawn with no colouring. You can colour them yourself, of course, if it helps you make some decisions!
