How to Stay Young in an Old Body…..

Basically, it’s quite easy to stay young in an old body, don’t let getting old take over, don’t sit and do nothing and don’t think old.

*Make a plan for the life ahead.

*Stick to it for a while and if you find it is too tough adapt it.

*You don’t have to be super woman or super man just relax and enjoy your life day by day.

*Rather like trying to come off drink or drugs do one step at a time.

NOTE. My friend Angie has told me about something called TRIP to help with drinking too much…will take a look.

*First of all think about your health and SORT IT. Nothing more boring than talking about your ailments to your friends and let’s face it they are not medically trained so why tell them. Also if you talk about your aches and pains you are focusing on them and they get worse not better, believe me.

*If you are unwell find a good doctor, go private if you don’t have a doctor that ‘listens.’ Many doctors have no patience with elderly people and basically wish they would curl up and die….sorry but it seems to be the case nowadays.

*Concentrate on the following:

A. Good, sensible diet...not too much of anything as when you get older you don’t need 2 big meals a day, but I find during the day I ‘nibble’...nibling is good for you! You know what they say, ‘a little of what you fancy does you good.’

B. Keep your food simple. Eat plenty of vegetables and fruit. There is so much goodness in a banana…. mush it up and pile onto a piece of buttered toast…how easy is that! Buy yourself a liquidiser and make fruit Smoothies.

Later in this book I will give you some very easy recipes, nothing fancy but just right for a person of a certain age! EAT WHAT YOU FANCY WHEN YOU WANT IT. I don’t have a great appetite these days so spoil yourself when you are a bit peckish and fancy something eat it….who cares you are allowed to do what you want, when you want.

C. Try not to complain all the time, again it does tend to be an ‘old’ thing. Personally, I find most things annoy me, but I try to shut up and grumble to myself, although there are times when I hear myself saying, ‘well in my day we did it like bla bla,’ that’s when everyone switches off so probably best to just moan quietly to yourself, knowing that you know best!

WATCH OUT FOR THE BOOK...THIS IS JUST A TASTE OF WHAT’S TO COME…..let me know if it’s of interest.
